To Make Things A Bit Easier...

In order to simplify the booking process, I'm changing up my prices. Weddings are staying the same, but my portrait pricing options are changing.

Instead of ranging from $225 - $285 depending on the number of people and what type of session it was, I'm changing the price to just $250 no matter who, what, where, or how many people are in the picture. ALSO - Everyone will continue to receive half of their session fee in product credit! That means that with your purchase of a session, you will automatically be credited with $125 to spend on prints, canvases, books, or CDs. I think the new prices will drastically change the way we book sessions - and make it much easier for you as well!

Matt & Chelsea!

Today...I wore Flip Flops - and exactly a week ago, it snowed....Welcome to Louisiana, my friends :)

Well, a few weeks back I visited Baton Rouge to see some friends of mine and Matt Lange, a wonderful photographer, was one of them! We went to go take some shots of him for his website and his beautiful girlfriend, Chelsea came with us. It became more of a couple shoot, because I loved the interaction between these two wonderful people. A week after this shoot, I found out that Matt and Chelsea got engaged! I was thrilled, and still am for them! I wish them the best now and for all the future! Matt's work can be seen on his BLOG and his WEBSITE! Enjoy the shots below:

Somebody's First Snow!!!!

not to mention my first snow in a LONG TIME: and yes, this is me - with wet hair and an undershirt out in the snow. haha. in LA, you never know how long the snow is actually gonna last, so I got out of the shower and just threw on what was in reach....and a coat wasn't. haha.

Couple Shoot!

This couple is not engaged, but they are one of the cutest couples I know, so I asked them to model for me!!! We did this shoot on Valentine's Day - and I hope you enjoy them!!!

I have had a wonderful week - a week that included three shoots and a few client meetings! Here are two of the three shoots that I'm going ton combine into one entry! I'll blog the other shoot (another couple shoot) in the next few days!

This is Autumn and her fiance! They've decided to go the traditional route and have just Autumn in the engagement picture, but of course, we took pictures of both of them, too! :)

Here are some from Amy's Maternity Shoot that I was so excited about! She's got to be one of the cutest pregnant lady I know! She's got 6 more weeks to go, and I wish her and her family the best! I can't wait to see baby Cross! (that's the name they've picked out - isn't it great!?) There are also a ton of these pictures, because I had SUCH a hard time picking favorites!!!

Lots Going On!

Well, this week, I have two couple shoots (Valentine's Day brings out the lovers!) and a maternity! I'm super excited about both of them! So I decided I'd make this post before I start putting up all of these portrait shoots!

I'm sure you think I only take pictures of people, which is mostly true - I LOVE catching emotions and laughs and smiles and the looks on peoples faces the first second they hear a joke, I love the interaction between adoring couples, and the amazing love felt between a family. That is why I'm a photographer! HOWEVER! This post doesn't have a single picture of a person! (even if I think of a few of these pictures as including a person) ;-)

I got two new lenses this evening, and I kind of went crazy taking pictures around my house with them - so here's all the new things in my house!

1) My new Dog MERLOT! Here's the gorgeous girl herself!

2) I bought this AMAZING Orchid from a local nursery for my Mom and Dad. It's called "Dancing Lady."

I also bought something for my own house: a Bonsai Tree!

I LOVE Louisiana Orange - - - Florida, WATCH OUT - - - - We Louisianians KNOW how to grow us some amazing oranges....

And last but not least - Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!

Been A While!!!

Hope all of you, my friends, are doing excellent! I am doing pretty well!

I've been super busy, and I apologize for being so slow in blogging! I have booked FIVE weddings in January alone! All of them are clients that I absolutely LOVE and feel so honored to have been chosen by them to shoot their wedding! I cannot wait to work with them more! I have four shoots coming in the next two weeks, so check back for those soon! One of them is a maternity session and one of them is an engagement session - both of which I cannot wait for! Both shoots represent the start of something new, a new addition to the family, the start of a whole new family, and the combination of lives into one. I love to capture parts of people's lives, and that's what my next week will comprise of, and I'm thrilled!

I hope you all had a good and SAFE Mardi Gras! I was supposed to go down south for Mardi Gras, but my plans changed because I GOT A DOG!!! Her name is Merlot and she's a Brittany Spaniel and is more than gorgeous - I'm so excited about her. After about a week of not knowing whether I would be able to keep her or not, I've fallen in love and can't let her go. She's mine, now! So instead of going to NOLA for Mardi Gras, my best friend came up from Baton Rouge and celebrated Mardi Gras in Shreveport with me! The picture below is of us! Probably not our best sides....but we were in my car about to leave, and we were taking the picture ourselves. hahaha. So excuse the horrible cameramanship. new word....haha!

Amber's Seniors!

Hey, Friends! Sorry I have been such a bad blogger! I have really fallen behind on things! So much has happened these past few weeks! So a quick update: I've lost 20 pounds so far, I bought some new glasses (picture below), booked a few more weddings for 2008 (will post new wedding schedule soon), and have some of my artistic work going to a gallery in Jackson, MS at the end of this month! I'm pretty excited about all of that! I will try to do better in the next few weeks about blogging, I really am sorry! I hope everything is going well with you and if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to talk - please don't hesitate to contact me!

BIG NEWS!!!

Well, my friends, this is the big news I've been waiting impatiently to tell you about!!! I just wanted to wait until it was COMPLETELY finished!

After totally redecorating their place, Hair Studio (downtown by The Fashion and across the street from RailRoad Part) asked if I would interested in putting up my work! I was THRILLED!!! I ecstatically said YES! This is where I've gotten my hair cut for the past 7 years (plus my mom, dad, and my sister...hahaha)!!! Now every time I go in there, I'll get to see my work and know I did that!!

Me and my dad made all the frames, and I bought the mat, glass, and pictures all separately and framed them myself (with the help of my parents, because this was NOT a one man job). This was a huge investment, but I'm so happy with how they all turned out, and I feel that it completely finishes off the place. No bare walls!!! This is just ONE of the many reasons why I am so excited about 2008!

Here are the pictures:

There are 5 pictures on one wall, 4 on the other, and 4 huge squares on the back wall. The sizes of the prints are 16 x 20 and the frames are a custom 25 x 36. The back wall consists of 11 x 14 prints framed in 30 x 30 squares.

Thanks for looking! If you have a chance, run by there! The people are awesome up there, and would be glad to see you, I'm sure!

There will also be a phase TWO, where I'll put some work up on the walls leading towards the back, but that's in the future...with future clients....will your's be one of them? ;-)

I've Lost Myself!

You may be curious what's up with the title! No - I haven't gone crazy (I don't think...)! I have lost 12.2 pounds so far! When I was born I weighed 10 pounds 12 ounces - so that's why I said I've Lost Myself (plus a little more!!) ! Cause I have lost all of the weight I had when I was born! haha. I thought that was kind of funny.

Either way - since I've lost some weight...and got this awesome new Jacket for myself for Christmas - I volunteered to have my picture taken ;-) by Kasey Stringer, a dear friend of mine! I'm SO happy with how they turned out, because I usually HATE pictures of myself, because believe it or not, I haven't really had my pictures taken anytime recently...so I was pleased to see these turned out. She shot them and I edited them - I think the mix of her shooting and my editing is a great mixture - so enjoy them!

If you've had your picture by me, you know this stance well...haha. Plus MANY other Ross-poses that only happen on photoshoots...hahha!

I've taken Kasey's Pictures a NUMBER of times, but here are a few more for fun ;-)

The lens that Kasey is ridiculously obsessed with...it's a Nikon... :( LOL

Notice the bag?! I'm wearing one in my first few pictures - it's called a Shootsac - and I LOVE mine. Really helps my style at Weddings with everything right there by my side and it's not too big and cumbersome to carry around.
